Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control

i've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .

i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.

so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

Very good quesiton. When I left we told our children that we are changing our family life course and not be any part of this cult. At the time they was with us but gulit and the Wt. Mind Control overtook them. My wife and I are the lucky ones for we would not cave into this cult like thinking. I personally am hell bent on stopping this cult thinking in our family. My biggest hope that our children will wake up. It may take years put I feel it will happen. In ten years our grand children will be young adults and I feel they will come see us and ask why we was not part of their life. I will tell them what happen but to as you said educate yourself about mind control cults and run as fast as you can. I know I am very hopeful but that hope does keep me going. In my wildest dreams I would never go back to the JW cult. Being a elder all those years I know to much and seen to much to even consider going back. Besides I am really enjoying my life now. Trying to help people with my knowledge of gardening and Reopened Mind teaching people about wild herbs. We are meeting people who have the same interest we have. In all the years I was in the cult no one and I mean no one had our interest in these things. The ones we knew were just drones of the cult and could less about anything else. For those sitting of the fence all I have to say is please don't go back to the Wt. cult. You will truly lose your soul if you do. Still Totally ADD

New requirement to be Recommended

per co last night, he mentioned in his talk that in oder for a brother to be recommended as an elder or ministrial servant he must have a regular and meaningful family worship night.

this will demostrate his willingness not to miss that important meeting and preside over his household.. so i thought, wow what a way to add to the "inspired" biblical list of qualifications.

serving jehovah is sounding more and more and more organizational..

That not really a new recommendation. They always wanted those who could be elder's to have a family study. They just use a new term for it. Family worship night. Sounds for much better that having a family study. After all that is why they stop the Monday/Tuesday night book studies so now a family can have a night to delve deeper in the cult teaching. LOL Still Totally ADD

first, i cannot believe how dumbed-down and simplistic the writing is now.

we used to have study articles with substance.

the writing style now is for people with slow minds or at the level of junior high students with learning disabilities.

If Jesus has been ruling for 100 years now does that mean we will only have a 900 year reign if the Big A happens today? It's only a 1000 year reign is it not? I am sure others have thought of this and just like Faithful Witness said "Maybe they are about to adjust their understanding." Still Totally ADD

i keep hoping and doing searches on the site for people in my area.

so far no one i recognize.

i have a few df'd friends that i lost touch with long before they were out (two who were elders actually when they got the boot) and would love to find out they were on here, but don't know if they plan on coming back.

LisaRose you are spot on. Remember years ago I would hear of congregation that had no love soon someone would come in and fix the problem. Now I think most congregation have little or not love. The only thing they think love is by going out in field service or saying hi to someone they hardly know before a meeting. Sorry you are in pain be well and will feed. This is one of the biggest things I have been working on sense I left the cult is working on how to show love to others. Since I was never taught love I have found so many ways to show it but never did I think of this while in the cult. Still Totally ADD

Terry as a kid I used to wonder how did the Wt. know all this stuff and nobody else did. I remember those long book studies from that red book back in the 60's. My Dad ate that stuff up. It made him feel better that others because he thought he knew something that others did not. He would even say many times "How come no one else see this?" Will we know why. It's all crap. I remember them quoting the Two Bablylons book once in awhile. I think of all those hours spent on understanding that book then the new version of it came out in the 80's that pretty much rebuke alot of the Bablylon book. Of course the new book is also all crap. The lie keeps on going. Thank you for your research on this subject. Still Totally ADD

My Mom is in the hospital

my mother broke her hip last week.

she had an emergency partial replacement surgery friday night.

we don't know how she did it as we have caregivers with her at all times, she may have fallen while in the bathroom for a few minutes.
